Richard Durbin Illinois – The economic recession has left Illinois with great financial issues. Many of them lost their jobs, their homes, and savings. But despite this huge economic issue, Illinois is now getting back on its feet. The economic situation of Illinois is getting better but for sure the congress can do more to help.

The congress must put their efforts on maintaining economic growth to revive economic security of the middle class, and those working their way up to the middle class in the society. The congress should make sure that there are legislations on the following aspects of the society:

  • Better and fair wages for the hard working labourers
  • Invest on education
  • Expand apprenticeship and on-the-job-training
  • Further automobile manufacturing growth
  • Fair share of taxes from the wealthy and top big corporations

The United States of America must start investing in physical, and intellectual capital to endorse continuing financial and economic growth. America should strive hard to be on top of manufacturing, education, and innovation in order to be more competitive to international products.

The aim is to produce the best products and hire the best people there is. In Illinois, the congress can start by supporting national labs and universities, retaining infrastructure which includes rail, roads, bridges, as well as waterways; and to ensure that all children can have quality, reasonable education.

Dubrin said that America should create jobs that are stable, that pay high sustainable wages that is enough to raise a family. The government must also recognize and reward employers that give good jobs along with fair pay and benefits to their workers.

Dubrin further said that he fought to tolerate local retailers at the main street to participate on a fair playing field as well as to give spurs for American businesses to maintain jobs in the US market. He also adds that he supports the increase in minimum wage and to ensure that women are given fair wages with their male coworkers. Dubrin believes that American citizens should not be working more than one job in order to support the growing needs of their family.
